I came across another little notebook I haven’t looked at in years, and I found something you might like.
I’d received a note from a former student, telling me that she’d been mingling her roots with those of the trees (something I used to teach).
Here’s how I replied: “I think that’s a good thing to do. Trees have a strong communication system. And trees understand needs. If you’re clear about your needs, and if your intention to have your needs met is pure, then, when you mingle your roots, the trees will communicate your needs far and wide. And who knows who else the trees communicate with and how far and wide that message will travel?”
Which caused me then to wonder what need I would communicate to the trees. And now I wonder again—what need do I have that I can tell the trees about?
What need do you have? Will you tell the trees?
